Camp Sherman Days Living History Encampment

July 7-9, 2017 at the Camp Sherman Joint Training Center in Chillicothe, Ohio

Join us for a rare event – a World War I living history demonstration.

See authentic camp and tent displays, drill practice, live fire demonstrations at the original Camp Sherman Rifle Range, and other living history activities. Plans also include a World War I antique show, and other period vendors. There will also be a food and drink vendor provided by the Ohio National Guard Auxiliary.

The event location is an active Ohio National Guard facility located at the base of Chillicothe’s Mount Logan on the original part of Camp Sherman used as the rifle range.

Attention World War I Reenactors and Living Historians!

This event is open to all World War I impressions including all American & Allied forces and all German & Central Powers forces.  It is our hope that the event will provide the public with a comprehensive look at the ordinary soldiers who fought on both sides of the conflict.

If you are the head of a World War I reenacting group or you are an individual reenactor, we encourage you to come participate in this very unique event.

Amenities for reenactors include:

  1. Free lodging in the modern, air-conditioned barracks next to where most of the activities will take place.  Lodging will include separate dormitories for men and women and separate restroom and shower facilities. (Space in the barracks is be limited to the first 100 reenactors who affirm their desire for barracks lodging on their registration form.)
  2. Free continental breakfasts both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  3. Free dinner Saturday evening.
